What is Pay Per Click?

Pay per Click or PPC for short is an advertising model where the advertiser does not pay for the space of the advertisement but rather for clicks on the ads. To put it another way, it is like only paying for the advertising space in the magazine based on the number of readers that have actually read the ad.

The concept behind PPC is a very simple one. The big search engines like Google, Bing or Yahoo allows you to buy space on their site to place your ads. This is done through a bidding process where you bid against other advertisers for the space and the highest price wins. These ads then get displayed typically on the right and top of the normal organic search results. The space you buy is also based on keywords which mean you only buy space for the relevant keywords you specify.

This means that you essentially buy traffic for your site. At first this sounded rather dodgy and sinister to me but after studying the PPC Affiliate Rockstar course I realized that all traffic comes at a cost. The other thing to keep in mind is that even if you have the highest bid for a specific search term it is still not a guarantee that you will be listed first. Every site also has a quality score which also influences your ranking.

The advantage of PPC is that you only pay for people that actually visit your site. If your ad appears and is never clicked, it will not cost you a dime. If that is the case however, you have some serious problems. Even with PPC it is very important that you do the basics right. I have learned through PPC Affiliate Rockstar that there is no substitution for hard work and study.

PPC is a great way of driving targeted traffic to your website. It allows you to get maximum exposure while still leaving you in total control of your budget. You can track every little detail of the advertising campaign and you can continually tweak and optimize your advertising campaign.

A word of warning though, if not done correctly PPC can destroy your advertising budget. You can easily end up paying highly inflated prices per click if you don’t know exactly what you are doing. The other problem is that you can drive lots of irrelevant traffic to your site which does not convert into sales. This might look good but will burn a hole in your pocket without giving anything back. You want to keep your cost per click as low as possible while still maintaining a profitable position on the page. You also want to increase your conversion rate of clicks to sales in order to maximize your ROI. All these secrets and a couple of others are uncovered in the PPC Affiliate Rockstar training course.

I believe that PPC can be a great tool for the online marketer if it used wisely. As always good practices must be at the heart of not only the PPC campaign but also the design of the site.

Not being able to get traffic to your website is one of the most frustrating things that can happen to an internet marketer. It is however a very common problem which most people deal with and in this article I want to help you fix this so you can not only get the traffic volumes up but also increase the profitability of your site.

Why you are not getting traffic from Google.

You have to keep in mind that Google AdWords is not a guaranteed method of getting traffic to your site. I have found that even guys like Albert Nel, the author of the excellent PPC Affiliate Rockstar training course had his problems at first.

You have to keep in mind that it takes a lot more than setting up your account correctly to create a successful Google AdWords campaign.

One of the biggest problems you have is that Google does not always tell you why you are not getting the traffic. This requires some detective work and a good dose of knowledge which you can get by studying PPC Affiliate Rockstar.

I will tell you about the 3 main reasons why you are not getting visitors to your site:

Reason #1 – Your bids are too low for the traffic you want to buy.

This is all about buying the best possible position for your ad on the page. When it comes to property investment you will hear that the three most important things to consider is location, location and location.
This is exactly the same approach you have to follow here. You want your add to appear in one of the first 3 or 4 position on the page. This will maximize the amount of clicks you get and would therefore increase the traffic to your site.

I know that this can cost you a lot of money if people click on your add but it does not convert into sales. For this very reason I would suggest you work through the PPC Affiliate Rockstar training course to learn how to get the ads targeted enough so you won’t have this problem.

Reason #2 – You are using the wrong keywords.

Most people make this mistake. They think in general a term when it comes to the keywords. A simple example of this would be the keyword phrase “insurance broker”. This might seem like a great keyword for your niche but consider the following. There are millions of people that use that same keyword phrase and therefore the competition is a lot higher and so is the cost per click.

If you are selling motor insurance, why would you want your ads to be lost between the thousands of people that sell life insurance or business insurance? Even if you get your ad to display in a good position you cannot be sure that the person is actually looking for your product.

One of the first things I was taught in the PPC Affiliate Rockstar training course was how to do effective keyword research. Work on this to make sure you get the attention of the people that you want to attract and not the ones that you are not interested in.

Reason #3 – The market might not have enough momentum.

Make sure that the market you are trying to penetrate is actually a market worth spending the time on. There is no use in trying to generate massive amounts of traffic to a site that is of little interest to the public at large.

Make sure you do your market research, follow the proven steps of someone that has made a success of this type of business. Work through the market research section in the PPC Affiliate Rockstar course and apply the knowledge of these people.

I still find it surprising to see how many web based businesses fall flat on their faces when it comes to their PPC campaigns. The fact is that most websites are spending too much money on PPC campaigns that does not convert into sales. If the problem is on the landing page, it might be wise to pause the campaign for a while. This will give you the opportunity to fix the landing page without wasting more money. If the problem is with the PPC campaign on the other hand there are a lot you can do and I would suggest that you keep reading.

There are a number of common mistakes which you need to avoid when it comes to PPC.

Using incorrect keywords. Keyword research is a very crucial aspect of an effective PPC campaign. Following the steps set out in the PPC Affiliate Rockstar course will help you develop a target and effective list of keywords. You can also use the Google keyword tool to help you find the keywords you should use. Do not use broad generic terms as keywords, these will cost you a lot of money and will deliver little or no results.

Making people visit the Home page. This is very common mistake which the majority of advertisers make. You want your add to link directly to the relevant page. By sending people to the home page first you lose a number of visitors. Always remember that the user does not want to waste time looking for the information which he supposedly already found. When someone clicks on your PPC ad, treat this person as someone that is ready to buy your product and take him or her directly to the point of purchase.

Not breaking the campaign into advertisement groups. There is no limit to the number of groups you can have in your campaign, but for some reason most people don’t have them. Always break your keywords into groups that are closely related. This will allow you to customize your copy based on the keywords. What this basically means is that you will always have keywords in the advertisement that relates to the text in the copy. This in turn increases the click through rate and therefore increases income.

Be unique. Far too many advertisers have generic looking ads. Working through the PPC Affiliate Rockstar course will teach you how to write an effective advertisement. You need to show the potential customer why they should buy from you rather than from the advertiser next door. Be original in your approach and focus on your strengths. Figure out what makes your business unique and work with that.

Effective PPC marketing is not rocket science. Make sure you are following the best practices and that you don’t make the common mistakes. Invest in a decent training course like PPC Affiliate Rockstar that will guide you through the murky waters to where the true PPC success lies.

Google AdWords has added an extra dimension to the competitive world of internet advertising. Google AdWords are so effective because Google is so influential in the internet market. After working through the PPC Affiliate Rockstar training course I realized that things aren’t as easy as setting up your campaign and collecting your money. There is a lot of thought and design that goes into setting up your campaign and it starts with creating a decent website. It is important to include the essentials such as the privacy policy, terms and conditions and contact pages. It is also important to make sure that the links on all your pages actually work and that you link back to your main page. Make sure that your navigation is clear and well organized, otherwise you might find that your ads are costing you more that it is worth.

An important fact I learned from the PPC Affiliate Rockstar course is that it takes money to start an AdWords campaign. This is why it is very important to track your campaigns and spend time to optimize your ads. This will all contribute to a positive growth in the return on investment (ROI).

The normal conversion rate for a PPC campaign is one percent. This means one sale for every one hundred people that click on your AdWords advertisement. This means that if you pay $2 per click you will spend $200 on advertising to make one single sale on your site. It is for this shocking reason that I would suggest an investment in the PPC Affiliate Rockstar course as it teaches you to get the cost per click down and the conversion ratio up.

If you can learn the secrets the big boys use you should be able to reduce the cost per click and increase the conversion ratio. This is all covered in the PPC Affiliate Rockstar course. Let’s get back to our example above. If you start doing things properly and you reduce the cost per click to $1, you have already done well for yourself. But imagine the awesome result if you knew how to set up AdWords in such a way that your conversion ratio goes up to five percent. This will immediately reduce the cost per sale from $200 to a mere $20, only ten percent of the original cost. This in turn will cause a huge increase in your ROI.

AdWords can be seen as an art form that requires dedication and focus to get up and running but it will surely benefit your business. This advertising platform can add a lot to your business but you must follow the rules. Always remember that you are competing on equal footing with the big boys when it comes to AdWords and by investing in a good training course like PPC Affiliate Rockstar you will always have the edge. There are allot of people out there who are reaping the rewards of applying the skills and principles taught in a good training course.
